Glews Garage, Goole have recently donated £150 worth of fuel to help a young, local motorbike rider compete in races on his GP5 Minimoto and Metrakit GP50.
Charlie Atkins aged 9 from Goole is a pupil at Boothferry Primary School and a very talented motorbike racer. He has been racing since he was 5 years old This year Charlie has competed in the British Championships on his Minimoto and came in 3rd place, he won 5 out of his 6 last races on the bike and is now the fastest kid in Great Britain.
Charlie also rides a Metrakit GP50 and this year has had two podium finishes this year, often beating older and more experienced kids.
Jane Richardson, Marketing Manager at Glews said “it is obvious that Charlie is a very talented motorbike racer and when we got the request for sponsorship we were delighted to be able to help towards the costs of attending the races. We wish Charlie all the best for next season.”
Penny Atkins, Charlie’s mum said “we are very grateful to Glews for the sponsorship, Charlie travels up and down the country for races so our fuel bills are very high. Glews contribution has really helped. We are very proud of Charlie. He has had a fantastic year and we have high hopes for the 2013 season”
Charlie has been chosen as one of the three junior riders in the UK to be supported by “The Young Riders Fund”.
Charlie is now looking for sponsorship for the 2013 season and they are asking local businesses if they would like to invest in the future of this talented local boy. If you are interested in supporting Charlie please contact Penny on 07929006993
