Glews deliver a Hole-in-One for Yorkshire Air Ambulance
David Giles Dealership Principal of Glews Garage handed over a cheque for £625 to Yorkshire Air Ambulance this week.
The money was raised at The Oaks Golf Club’s Spring Pro-AM on 16th May 2014. The Glews team were out in full force to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance and they raised the money by running a competition to win a Peugeot 107 for a hole-in-one.
Unfortunately no one got a hole-in-one but the Glews team managed to raise £625 which will go straight to the air ambulance.
David said "It was a glorious day at The Oaks and a very enjoyable event. The golfers; Pros and Amateurs, dug deep and gave generously to what is a fantastic cause."
Glews entered a team into the competition and placed 5th overall with their Pro Robert Giles, who came all the way from Ireland, winning the professionals tournament.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a life saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire. They fly seven days a week, 365 days a year, covering a vast landscape that not only includes major cities and motor ways, but also rural and isolated locations. To keep providing this life saving service the charity needs to raise £9990 per day to keep both of Yorkshire’s Air Ambulances maintained and in the air.
