Two local charities to benefit from Glews' fundraising weekends

Book a test drive and support a good cause!

Glews has pledged its support to two local good causes and will raise much-needed funds by donating £10 each time a customer takes a car for a test drive during the next two weekends.

The Goole-based Vauxhall and Peugeot dealer will add another £30 if a customer ends up buying the car, increasing its donation to £40!

Charity fundraising weekends will be held at the Glews showroom on Rawcliffe Road this Saturday and Sunday, 22 and 23 May, and the following weekend, 29 and 30 May. The proceeds will be shared equally between the Jerry Green Dog Rescue centre at Gilberdyke and Candlelighters, Yorkshire’s pre-eminent childhood cancer charity.

Joseph Richardson, director, said: “Both of these charities do fantastic work within the local area and we’re delighted to be supporting them over the next two weekends. We’d encourage as many people as possible to come in and take a test drive to help us boost the coffers of two extremely worthwhile good causes. Don’t forget, it you end up buying the car that you test drive, we’ll donate £40 to be shared between our two chosen charities!”

The charity fundraising events will coincide with the arrival in the showroom of the new Peugeot RCZ Sports coupe, enabling customers to get their first glimpse of the vehicle that was named ‘Most Beautiful Car of the Year’ at the annual International Automobile Festival.

Graham Andrews, RCZ specialist at Glews, said: “There has been a huge amount of interest in the RCZ and we’ve already got a waiting list of people wanting to take it out for a test drive. Although the RCZ won’t be available for customers to test drive during the two charity fundraising weekends, they will be able to book a test drive for a future date and we’ll still donate £10 to our two chosen charities.”

Photo opportunity: You are invited to send a photographer to Glews on Rawcliffe Road, Goole at 12 noon on Tuesday 18 May, when there will be an opportunity to photograph Joseph Richardson and representatives of the company’s two chosen charities promoting the weekend’s fundraising activities.
