Successful Ladies Evening at Glews
There was a real festive buzz in Glews showroom last Thursday when they hosted a Ladies Night and Christmas fair. Over 60 ladies attended the event themed “Be in the driving seat for Christmas” which kicked off with a glass of bucks fizz and some festive nibbles. First up was a talk by Humberside police on staying safe over the festive season, the message from the police was make sure you plan your evening out, let others know where you are and use the “Spikeys” they handed out to prevent your drink getting spiked.
Glews service manager Stewart Laws then gave a talk on car safety, paying particular attention to tyres and how you can spot if they are still roadworthy. Stewart said “lots of cars we see here at Glews have tyres on which are unsafe. I would encourage people to check their tyres regularly and if they don’t know what to look for to bring their car down to Glews and we will take a look for them. For the sake of a few minutes we might be able to prevent accidents or further damage to the car.”
Guests were then able to browse the Christmas stalls and buy some Christmas gifts, stall holders included Ruby Shoes and Dragonfly jewellery from Goole, All Occasions, California Gardens and Blue sky from Howden, Drewtons Farm shop from South Cave and Avon from Gilberdyke.
A raffle raised £300 from Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Jane Richardson, organiser of the event, said “we were delighted that so many ladies turned out on the evening, there was a great atmosphere in the showroom and everyone had a great time. Many thanks to all the stall holders, Glews staff and Humberside police who helped to make the event a success”
